I don’t feel right. I am a little off. This is distressing. That makes me feel uneasy. How embarrassing. I am getting impatient with this situation.
All of these expressions indicate the emotion or feeling of discomfort. They all just leave you with that unsettling feeling that all is not right.
They send one of these messages: 1) the actions you are taking right now are not in alignment with your goals, or 2) the way you are perceiving things is off target.
The action to take for 1) is to adjust your actions, usually just a small tweak, and see if that gives an improved set of results, and the action for 2) is to step out of yourself as if you are a 3rd person observer of the scenario and get a different perspective on things. You could also ask your coach, mentor, pastor, spouse, colleague what their perspectives are. I frequently consult with others having both more or less experience in a situation to get out of a tunnel vision situation.
No matter how you do it nothing will change without taking action. Just ask the backyard visitor.
