Happy Easter. A culminating event in the battle of good versus evil. It is the celebration of the day that death was defeated. An open tomb was found and in it the burial wrappings known as the Shroud of Turin, or Holy Shroud, the image imprinted upon it is still unexplained by any modern technology. As an Engineer and Scientist I have asked many, many questions about God and the Lord Jesus in my own personal quest. I know a lot about energy, thermodynamics, random numbers, fractals, and a bit of chaos theory. I have seen the “last gasp” and the “lights go out”in the eyes. As we humans unfold more and more of the mysteries of the universe through space exploration my conviction becomes even more rooted in bedrock. Even the calendar recognizes this greatest of all events in human history with the separation of BC from AD.
Some readers may be agitated. Some may not know the difference between religion and spirituality. Some may have established their beliefs and convictions without ever exploring and asking questions. Many will have other convictions or beliefs. Many will say religion is the source of war. I will just say that the human ego is the source of wars, a conflict is always over differing opinions, beliefs, and convictions… someone wants to be right. And in many cases wars are over resources needed to survive… survival very much ties in with the fear of dying, a basic instinct at the level of our reptilian brains. For me what it all comes down to is this – the enemy has two tools – incite fear and separate the herd. You can watch this play out on the Animal Channel, in the schools, on the TV, or on the street corner. Regardless of who you are or what you believe I wish you a Happy Easter, the enemy was defeated.
How about an Amen?
