Forever. Will this go on forever? This is going to take forever. I will stay with you forever. Forever is a very powerful word, and it takes a long, long time. Be careful using this word in a metaphor. It can leave you with a feeling of hopelessness. It is a word that leaves you somewhere so far in the future that it becomes difficult to reconnect to the present. It takes you straight into the Phantom Fear zone. And there you have it – Fear and Isolation. These are the two primary tools of the enemy.
The opposite of hopelessness is hopeful. The opposite of helpless is helpful. The opposite of forever is An infinitely small period of time we call the Present moment. Find just one little thing that makes you feel grateful and focus on it. Really, really focus on it. Wiggle your toes. Shake your booty. Do the Snoopy dance. You cannot feel any of the Phantoms while you do these things. Go out and help someone who needs it.
