Most have heard of muscle memory, and most have heard “use it or lose it”. This not only applies to physical patterns such as weightlifting, or cardio, or golf swing, or baseball where practice and repetitions are key. Martial Artist Bruce Lee said “I fear not the man who has practiced 10,000 kicks once, but I fear the man who has practiced one kick 10,000 times.” But did you know that this use it or lose it principle also applies to your mental, emotional, and spiritual states as well? That’s likely why another cliche arose: “fake it till you make it”. No matter what happens to you (and hopefully you will adopt the belief that everything happens for you), practice the habits and patterns of gratitude, excitement, and happiness. Like smiling for instance, or acting cheerful. These states and patterns are known to be contagious. The alternative really comes down to pain, misery, despair, and hopelessness. Why would anybody volunteer to choose those?
