School, reading, training, seminars in a subject you have interest in is going to launch you. There will be hard work, may be some temporary setbacks, but the end result of completing the training should be that feeling of success and accomplishment. A chance to contribute more to this world.
Personally I worked full time while attending UCLA getting my Master’s and PhD degrees. The biggest challenges I had besides the traffic on the 134, 101 and 405 freeways were the death of my infant son the day before a midterm which a hateful department chair made me take. The same man that flunked my orals the first time round. I prayed a lot for that man and had some understanding of why he was the way he was. I had to fight and claw my way to completing the program. I passed the orals the second time round 6-months later. It was a Must Have forged in steel by the fires of pain and anger I had been through. The satisfaction of the hooding ceremony was very sweet.
25 years later, in 2019, I took the Small Business Association Emerging Leaders StreetWise MBA certificate program over the course of March-October while working more than full time. A lot of life happened during the course and I successfully completed all my requirements; my classmates voted me their spokesperson for commencement, it was very humbling because the class was filled with too-notch CEO’s and Executives. The program was demanding, many who started the class did not finish. The CEO Mentor Group I was in (we called ourselves the Alphas) had 3 brilliant ladies and we represented almost 40% of the graduating class. The gratitude and humility I felt on commencement day and the days and events following did a lot for my soul. There is 100% certainty that this training is the basis for my launching several new companies in the near future. My inner entrepreneur has been unleashed.
So I encourage you to right now write down your educational, career and business goals the same way as in the Well-Being blog.
