Face it, there are just an enormous number of things that we can worry about if we choose to allow that subroutine to run. For my business I can choose to be worried about supply chain, price escalation, increases in overhead and administrative costs, my employees, changes to the laws in different cities and states we operate in, taxes, accounting, intellectual property, suspense dates and deadlines, customer satisfaction, vendor performance, etc, etc. The list is exhausting.
Then there are things like family, and health, and healthcare, and insurance, service providers, etc., etc.
On top of worry you could add in overwhelming!
How is one to deal with “all this”?
A lot of this can be managed by avoiding “future tripping” where you literally imagine outcomes and tend to put a negative or disastrous spin to them, casting an expectation of fear and failure onto the future, spoiling it in the present. If I must future trip then I am going to spin a positive outcome there, try not to ruin the future or the present. I am still improving in this area.
Most of the rest of the worry pattern can be dispelled by replacing it with the pattern of gratitude. I learned that one from an octogenarian many, many years ago. If one can learn to be grateful for everything that comes their way amazing things are possible. In this area I am constantly reminded that everything is meaningless until such time as I assign a meaning to it. Giving up placing labels on things is a powerful little tool.
That’s enough for today. Have s good day unless you made other plans.
