After preparing for and working towards some huge goal or achievement and accomplishing it some people will have a “let down”, a depression, a feeling of “is that all there is”. For some it is like crawling across the finish line with exhaustion and may not even provide the anticipated feeling of satisfaction. They will say it was a real grind. Those reactions have everything to do with emotional AND spiritual growth.
I had an event like that last year. I was working my tail off and going to MBA school. Two weeks before graduating I wrapped up all my business responsibilities, turned in my final school project, and went OCONUS to Tahiti for an amazing anniversary vacation. When I returned I was jet lagged, two weeks behind in work, had over 600 emails, a kiddo having surgery, graduation and a class speech to write, and a 5 days to complete a major proposal. When I submitted the proposal on a Saturday I had absolutely nothing left in the tank physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually. But I had succeeded in doing everything.
Sometimes it is an endurance contest. Sometimes we win but we are so battered that there is no pleasure in the victory. I have only ever read, heard or round one way out that let’s me get “back in the saddle”, “back in the ring”. And it has to do with emotional and spiritual growth, aka, the heart and soul.
I started on the next big thing – business plans for a new company and for the 501.c.3 I have had in mind for 3 years now. It’s to outfit people in 3rd world countries with inexpensive eyeglasses custom made on the spot.
I NEED A PRO BONO LAWYER for “ITIGATION” language and an IMPORTER to assist with re-establishing the supply chain, someone for marketing and distribution. This venture would offer the ability to help hundreds of thousands to millions of people who can’t see well enough to read, or shoot well enough to hit a target so as to feed their family.
